The Official Tourism Website for Shropshire

Group travel in Shropshire is a brilliant idea, however large or small your group. Shropshire has the space to accommodate you, the facilities to ensure your trip runs smoothly, and an abundance of attractions to please every guest. Shropshire’s county town of Shrewsbury has Coach Friendly status, awarded in 2012 in recognition of its commitment to improving coach access, driver facilities and coach tourism.

From arts and crafts workshops to outdoor pursuits, you can make your Shropshire group travel experience as calm and quiet or as adrenaline fuelled as your guests prefer.

Many Shropshire stately homes and castles offer private guided tours, allowing your group unique access to the stories of England’s most intriguing homes. Shropshire garden tours are popular too – rounded off to perfection with cream tea on the lawn. Don’t forget to ask for Shropshire prune damson jam – it’s widely accepted to be the defining element of Shropshire cream tea.

Your group can take guided walking tours of Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Oswestry or Shrewsbury. The latter offers highly popular themed tours: how about a spooky insight into the ghosts of Shrewsbury, or a tour walking in the fictional footsteps of Brother Cadfael? Cadfael of course is the hero of Ellis Peters’ stories set in and around Shrewsbury Abbey.
