This luxurious and unique former schoolhouse is nestled on the banks of the River Severn with one parking space on the driveway.
A superb walk along the river into town or a 2 minute drive, to explore this historical & picturesque area of Shropshire.
Privately located and recently renovated to a high standard, ‘School House’ has a blend of period features, panelled walls & stylish comforts. The open-plan living space is stunning, with high ceilings, & 65″ Smart TV with comfortable seating.

The space

A warm welcome to our lovely property, School House,

Located in a quiet and secluded area of Shrewsbury, this modern and spacious home is close to the town centre with a 10-15 minute stroll.

The property faces the road but is just 65 meters from the River Severn down a small alley next to the house.
The Weir is just 2 minutes walk along the riverbank and definitely worth a visit.

For the property itself, the hosts have spared no expense in transforming this lovely property into an extra-special place for guests to enjoy.

Within a stones-throw of the River Severn, giving you beautiful walks from your doorstep into town via the famous Quarry Park.

THE SPACE (with fast WIFI – approx. 70 mbps)

Spacious and Bright Kitchen:

With a generous area of superior quartz worktops, and central island unit, to prepare food with lots of cupboard storage, including a separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher, digital oven and induction hob.
We have tea and coffee making facilities with a cafetiere and single cup coffee machine (please do bring your favourite freshly ground coffee).

Under-unit LED strip lights with multicolour remote add to the atmosphere at night!

A breakfast bar and raised dining table offer space to eat, drink and socialise in comfort.

We have every utensil available, with pans, plates and bowls for all. Plus plenty of wine, tumbler and champagne glasses.

Luxurious Bedrooms:

There are two spacious 1st floor, beautifully decorated bedrooms in calming colours, featuring super king sized beds with luxury handmade Harrison Spinks natural wool mattresses assuring you of a restful night’s sleep.

Each room has a stylish clothes hanging rail with bedside cabinets and a bench or seating area to store bags or luggage.

One of the super king beds can be separated into two single beds. If you would like this option, kindly request this soon after your booking as we will need to arrange it before your stay.

Striking Living / Dining Area:

A standout feature of the home is the expansive open-plan kitchen / dining & living area. High ceilings and oak-panelled walls create a grand, yet cosy atmosphere. The comfortable seating accommodates up to four guests, ideal for relaxing or entertaining. We also have a snug blanket if the evenings are chilly.

The raised dining table also has roomy seating for everyone.

Fabulous Entertainment:

If a large flat screen is your cup of tea, you can watch your favourite films in front of the unmissable 65″ Smart TV (equipped with streaming channels only) perfect for movie nights or catching up on your favourite shows. Please log in and out of your Netflix / Amazon accounts to watch these. And please be advised that we do not have live Freeview connection.

Calming and Opulent Bathroom:

Situated between the two bedrooms, the beautifully designed luxurious bathroom features a large freestanding double-ended bath. The opposite wall encloses a double-size glass shower cubicle, ensuring a refreshing start to your day.

Beautiful Outdoor Space and Garden:

Step outside into a lovely garden featuring a lush lawn and maturing flower beds. The outdoor table with seating for four provides an idyllic spot for morning coffee, alfresco dining, or simply soaking up the tranquillity of the area.

Guest Access:

The hosts live in the main adjoining house which faces the river. Feel free to say hello if you see them but your stay will be uninterrupted and private.
Guests have full access to School House only and the front garden nearest the road.
It would be difficult to imagine a more perfect stay to be had at this lovely property with the blend of historic charm and modern conveniences.

Other Things to Note for Guests:

A reminder to please request the configuration of the super king bed in advance if you prefer one of them separated into two single beds.

Free on-street parking is available on surrounding roads.

Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the entire house and garden. Enjoy the seamless blend of historic charm and modern conveniences that School House offers.

There is one central space available on the hosts’ driveway for one medium sized car. Strictly no vans, campervans or motorhomes please.

Other things to note

Strictly no smoking or vaping inside the property at any time due to fire regulations. Smoke alarms are positioned to detect this.

The hosts live next door so please enjoy yourselves but respect their space.

The outdoor furniture for use is outside the French Doors from the sitting room. The larger table and barbeque are for host’s private use only.
