Shropshire’s Own was formed by Duncan and Sarah back in 2012. Born from a love of fresh, local, produce, we’d always enjoyed shopping in local farm shops but found we’d often leave frustrated because we couldn’t buy everything we wanted in one place. We’d then shop online with one of the supermarkets and have our order delivered – so we thought why not provide the same delivery service with an online farm shop, specialising in food produce here in Shropshire?
Shropshire’s Own started as an ‘online only’ venture, before taking on the village shop (and Post Office) back in 2014. In 2021 we parted ways with the Post Office and moved to Shropshire’s Own, Longden Village Stores, at the Tankerville Arms, Longden. We’re proud of the products we stock and you’ll find an amazing variety of local Shropshire food, fresh farm produce and local artisan-made goods. All from our network of over 50 local farmers, growers and producers, along with our own heritage & heirloom variety ‘Shropshire sown’ vegetables.
As much as we love it, we couldn’t do this all on our own, and we rely on our small band of merry helpers…
Kim – A keen gardener as well as being our weekend helper, Kim has been with us from the start. She often comes along to work with armfuls of her freshly picked veg!
Bev – After moving back from Spain, Bev joined us a few years back and is fully versed in all things local.
Caroline – Originally from down south, joined us just before the pandemic hit. Her help has been invaluable over lockdown. She can regularly be seen delivering to local customers.
Stephen – Stephen has recently returned to help out in the new shop. He’s in charge of the sugar rush, as the local school children charge into the shop for the 3pm rush.
Pugly – Our bright pink little van that we bought during lockdown. He gets us to all sorts of interesting places around Shropshire and is a vital member of the team!
