PARTY IN THE PARK IS BACK!

Bishop’s Castle’s legendary one day music festival, Party in the Park, is back on Saturday 22 July 2023 in the town’s playing fields.

This will be the thirteenth year of Party in the Park and promises another day of great music. For 10 years, the event was organised by the ‘About Music Project’, giving a stage to the town’s young bands, alongside recognised acts. Now, those young bands have children of their own and are among the members of the current organising committee, Centre Stage, who took over in 2020.

“We have a commitment to showcasing new bands”, said music programme (and still member of one of those original young bands) Jake Putterill-Evans, “and we are programming young bands from Bishop’s Castle Open Mic at the Underground – a really successful monthly event where young people can come and play or sing music or support their friends.”

Information about programmed bands will be released soon – would-be attenders or volunteers are asked to like the Centre Stage Facebook page, for posters around local towns, or to email [email protected].

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
