This half-term, Ludlow Castle is set to come alive with a wild and wonderful Creepy Crawlies Trail, plus live animal encounters! Get ready for family fun that will have any budding David Attenborough buzzing.

Explore the Creepy Crawly Trail

From 26th October to 3rd November, young adventurers can take on a special Creepy Crawly Trail around the castle grounds, in partnership with Zoolab. Scattered throughout the castle grounds, fun fact boards will introduce you to a variety of fascinating creatures. Each board reveals a unique animal and a letter – can you collect all the letters to spell out the secret word? As you explore, you’ll learn about each animal and enjoy a variety of puzzles and activities included in your free activity pack. Complete the trail and pick up your special certificate at the Castle Gift Shop.
And the best part? The trail is included in your admission ticket!

Up-Close Animal Encounters on Sunday 27th October and Saturday 2nd November

For an even wilder experience, join us on Sunday 27th October and Saturday 2nd November for a hands-on animal encounter session. Perfect for brave little ones, these sessions allow children to handle real animals, guided by experts from Zoolab. Meet the likes of snakes, spiders, snails and more in this fun encounter session for all ages. Learn all the weird and wonderful facts about these awesome creatures.
Whether you’re a tadpole or a frog, tickets for the animal encounter sessions are £3.00 per person (yes, that’s for adults and children alike!) on top of your Castle admission fee. There will be six sessions to choose from throughout the day but spaces are limited and are sure to fill up fast.  Children must be accompanied by an adult for these sessions.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
