Set in tranquil ancient woodland at the heart of the 1,000-acre Acton Scott Estate in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our glamping site offers an atmospheric rural experience and promises a care-free adventure for all.
Your encampment has a barbecue and a bookable private hot tub, from which you can watch the stars in peace, except for the occasional crackle of the wood-fired stove. There is electricity and hot water, so you don’t have to live completely off-grid!
The site was freshly remodelled in 2023. Our new farm shop features gourmet, hand-prepared ready meals from the nearby Deli, perfect for those lazy days. Plenty of delicious local produce is also on offer, meaning you can visit us without the stress of a supermarket shop! The helpful visitor information section in the shop includes our new ‘Wander Wall’, where you’ll find details of local hikes and activities for all ages and abilities. Your friendly host Tam can also give you recommendations for things to do throughout your stay in addition to those provided in your handbook.
The quaint market town of Church Stretton is a five-minute drive away, where you’ll find small, independent shops and Carding Mill Valley, a very popular spot for walkers. The larger towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow make for an excellent day-trip. If you fancy an evening meal, there are three high quality pubs within a 3-mile radius.
Our luxury Safari Tent is extremely comfortable and sleeps up to five people, with a spacious open-plan living room and fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy an evening drink on the terrace whilst the kids play one of the board games in the living room and see if you can spot a deer at sunset.
Our hand-crafted, locally-made Shepherds’ Huts suit the historic nature of the area perfectly. With a cosy woodburning stove, underfloor heating, a full-sized double bed complete with 100% cotton linen, an en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette, there’s everything you’d expect of a luxury holiday and more.
We offer a variety of extras which can be booked during the checkout process. These include a private wood-fired hot tub, breakfast and BBQ hampers and a high chair and cot. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome – there is a small additional charge for cleaning.
All of us at Acton Scott work hard to enrich its appeal to visitors and we are confident you will have a restorative and memorable holiday with us. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you soon.
