Festive magic at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, where Father Christmas is visiting Shrewsbury to meet families in his traditional museum workshop. The joyful elves will guide you along the flagstones, through the archway and up the original sweeping staircase*.
Children are welcome to post a letter to Father Christmas** look out for his post box on your journey. Your Elf will guide you to a wonderous workshop, crammed full of history and magic to meet Father Christmas himself! Tell him your Christmas dreams and wishes and receive an early gift.
This event is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town, with time-slots for your visit to reduce crowds and a peaceful setting where children are the focus. This is a very popular, peaceful and calm experience for everyone to enjoy, come and make some precious festive memories.

Tickets cost £15 per child aged 1 – 17 years old. (No charge for under ones), and £5 per accompanying Adult. Various times available through the booking link below. Maximum 6 people per time slot.

Set in 100 acres of Parkland The Follies is a range of dramatic and rugged natural sandstone hills that were developed to include gullies, caves, towers and bridges, becoming one of the most visited landscapes in Britain during the 19th Century. However, throughout the 20th Century this romantic landscape became forgotten, overgrown and ruinous, unvisited by all but the locals.
Now recognised as a Masterpiece of the School of Naturalistic Landscape and designated as a Grade I listed landscape by English Heritage, this magical and exhilarating landscape had a new lease of life with a multi-million pound restoration project enabling it to reopen to visitors in 1993. Overgrown but never fully forgotten, pathways were cleared, gullies reopened and handrails reinstalled to allow visitors to enjoy the spectacular views and surprises that The Follies reveals around every corner.
