The space
Welcome to William Oakes House! We hope you will have a lovely time here.
Once belonging to William Oakes, this beautiful Georgian house is full of history and character.
As you step inside, you’ll find the property is spread across multiple levels, offering plenty of space and privacy for everyone.
Living Areas:
The ground floor houses a fully equipped kitchen and a utility room, making it easy to prepare meals and feel at home. There is an oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, kettle. toaster, microwave, coffee machine and air fryer. Everything you could possibly need! The dining/breakfast table in the kitchen makes for a great spot to enjoy homecooked meals and socialise together on an evening.
Bathroom:
On the first floor, you’ll find a well-appointed bathroom with a bathtub, perfect for soaking and unwinding after a day of exploring the local sights.
– Head upstairs to the second floor, and you’ll find the lounge area where you can kick back, relax, and enjoy some quality downtime together. There is a Smart TV in here where you can log in to streaming sites such as Netflix, Prime, etc (please provide your own logins). There are also TV’s in two of the bedrooms, perfect to relax
– On the same floor, is one of the 3 bedrooms, a charming double bedroom that’s perfect for getting a restful night’s sleep.
– The master bedroom, located on the top level, features a luxurious king-size bed.
As well as the master bed room there is a t
third bedroom on this floor which features a double bed.
Fresh white bed linen and towels are provided (One Bath Sheet and One Hand Towel per person) all hotel quality and hotel-style toiletries are provided as well as a complimentary tea/coffee pack and Dishwashing/detergent packs, toilet roll, kitchen roll, etc.. which will last a couple of days. If you want to do some shopping there are plenty of local shops and supermarkets within a 2-10 minute walk and a butchers and Deli right next door which sells delicious breakfast rolls – no need to cook
Private Garden:
You are welcome to (and encouraged!) enjoy and relax in the garden.
Dog-Friendly:
We love dogs and they are welcome at the property. We kindly ask that they do not sleep in the beds or go onto the furniture. We ask for an additional £20 per stay.
Parking:
There’s off-street parking for 2 cars, with the possibility of squeezing in a third if they’re on the smaller side—so no need to worry about finding a spot after a day of adventures.
Local Attractions:
There’s so much to see and do nearby! Whether you’re into history, nature, or simply love exploring, you’ll find something for everyone:
– Take a ride on the Venicular Railway for stunning views.
– Explore the natural beauty of the River Severn and nearby walking trails.
– Discover the fascinating Hermitage Caves and Lavingtons Hole, which is just opposite the house!
– Wander through the picturesque Wyre Forest or Comer Woods.
– Visit the historic Dudmaston Hall and its lovely gardens.
– Don’t miss a trip on the Severn Valley Railway, a must for any train enthusiast.
