An Escape Room like you have never experienced before. A voyage across the lake to uncover mysteries and find your way back to shore. A totally outdoor experience, only for the brave hearted. There are 4 different islands to choose from:

This year, Alderford have introduced an Escape Island designed for children betweem the ages of 8-12 centred around the extinction of the dinosaur species, and the race to find evidence of dinosaur life.

Extinction: 66 million years ago, dinosaurs became suddenly extinct from the impact of an asteroid. There has been no evidence of dinosaur life since the asteroid hit, until now. You are a team of explorers who have been sent to a mysterious island on a mission to save the last remaining dinosaur egg. You have 1 hour to follow the clues left behind by the last team who failed before you to find and rescue the egg before it ends up in the wrong hands…

Tiki Island: You, along with your fellow explorers have been sent to a remote island in the south pacific. The tiki tribe’s totems which hold almighty powers have been taken. It is your job to find the totems and return to the sacred tribe before it is too late. If these totems fall into the wrong hands, there could be fatal consequences.

The Curse of Camelot: Camelot, the capital of your realm, is in danger. As the true King, it is your duty to protect and uphold the safety of your kingdom. Joined by your loyal group of knights, you must save Camelot and release the curse. The only way to do this is to pull the sword from the stone, thus claiming your birthright and begin the new reign of England.

The Forbidden Lair: Our most challenging Island. You have discovered an abandoned building in the depth of the night. Intrigued to look inside, everything is not as it seems. Your visit has disturbed the creatures of the night, awakening the most dangerous of spirits. Discovering the truth behind the forbidden lair, you wish the whole night was a nightmare. You have 60 minutes to escape.

Review ‘Having escaped many rooms across the country and abroad, it was refreshing to tackle something different. Boarding a boat and being driven across the lake to one of the several escape islands was a fun and interesting start to the game. It was so refreshing to be outdoors looking for clues and working out the many puzzles to complete the game. As usual, the game master is watching and able to give clues if needed, by 2-way radio. Once completed, you are picked up and returned to shore and the game headquarters. There were 4 of us in our group and we all thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.’

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
