Your Accommodation
You’ll enter through a small hall, perfect for hanging coats and leaving shoes after a day of exploring.
To the right is a comfortable lounge-diner, with a large double sofa and a smart TV equipped with Netflix, iPlayer, Prime, and more (just log in with your own accounts). There a selection of games and a book swap, perfect if you’ve forgotten your own or want to swap for a new read. The room is made extra cozy by an electric fire with a flickering flame effect. While it’s not real, it’s just as inviting! A sash window overlooks the front garden, the bench is a lovely quiet spot to enjoy your morning cup of tea while watching the many birds visiting the bird feeder.
The dining area has a round table with four chairs, ideal for meals or board games. Patio doors lead out to the garden, bringing in plenty of natural light.
Off the lounge-diner is a compact yet fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for your stay, including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, and biscuits for your arrival. There’s a gas oven, gas hob, under-counter fridge with icebox, dishwasher, kettle, and a Tassimo coffee maker with starter pods. The kitchen window overlooks the back garden, and there’s a back door providing easy access to the outdoor space.
The garden at Drake Cottage has steps leading up to a decked patio with a wooden table, chairs, and a parasol—perfect for outdoor dining. There’s a small gravelled area, while the rest of the terraced garden is planted with shrubs, flowers, and in summer we like to try and grow lots of sunflowers, green beans, and far too many billowy cosmos.
Upstairs at Drake Cottage, stairs with a handrail lead to the first floor. The double bedroom has a comfortable double bed, bedside tables with lamps, a large mirrored double wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, and a generously sized chest of drawers. The window overlooks the front garden, the riverside footpath and the River Severn.
The single bedroom includes a chair and a chest of drawers but there is no hanging space in this bedroom. The window overlooks the garden and the woodland gorge behind.
The modern bathroom has a bath with an overhead drench-style shower that provides excellent water pressure—guests often comment on how fantastic the shower is. Complimentary toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, are provided, along with toilet rolls for your convenience.
