Group accommodation in Shropshire: make everyone feel at home

When it comes to sleep, Shropshire offers every type of accommodation for group travel, from campsites to college campuses and luxuriously appointed houses. Coach party organisers will be able to negotiate favourable rates with many of Shropshire’s hotels. Bunkhouses in Shropshire are a wise choice for large groups travelling to Shropshire, especially walkers or cyclists seeking an affordable, comfortable place to bed down. Check whether you need to bring bed linen and towels, and whether the catering facilities suit you and your party. Shropshire bunkhouses are in excellent locations, offering a cheerful and convenient retreat after an exhilarating day in the hills. Shropshire has several highly regarded hostels, their buildings rich in local history. For a bargain price you can stay in a Grade I Elizabethan manor house on Wenlock Edge – it even has a bridal suite with four-poster bed. Another hostel has original mill workings and is located by a lovely pub. Staying in Shropshire hostels doesn’t force you to sacrifice comfort for cost. As well as affordable dorm rooms for group travel, private en-suite and family rooms are usually available for advance booking. Another good option for group accommodation in Shropshire is college campuses, offering both single and double bedrooms, and conferencing space. Your group can book college campus accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis if you wish. Shropshire also has a wealth of bigger, more luxurious lodgings, cottages and houses that will comfortably sleep your group during a special holiday – an extended family reunion, perhaps, or a birthday or anniversary celebration.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
