Welcome to Soldiers of Shropshire Museum in Shrewsbury Castle.
The Museum is host to a journey through nearly 300 years of British Army Evolution, seen through the eyes, campaigns and sacrifices of Shropshire Soldiers.
The Museum displays the significant collections of the Shropshire regiments between 1755 and 1968, including the formation of the Light Infantry & Rifles regiments, and the Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry, (Shropshire Yeomanry) Squadron.
Discover the stories of Shropshire Soldiers in war and peace, at home and abroad, from their formation to the present day.
2021 OPENING HOURS:
From 17th May: 10.30am – 5pm (4pm on Sunday), but closed on Thursdays.
From 13th September: 10.30am – 4pm but closed on Sundays and Thursdays.
Winter Maintenance closure: 19th December 2021 – 13th February 2022
