The Loopy Shrew

The Loopy Shrew is a family run Restaurant & Bar with Boutique Rooms in the Heart of Shrewsbury Town Centre called ‘The Town of Flowers’. Located in a quiet backwater of the town with its black and white Tudor buildings and higgledy piggildy streets with names you want to say out loud, a river that scoops up the town in a loop with its eclectic mix of independent shops, restaurants and high street stores. A mix of the very old, the very new, the quirky and the one-offs. We are very proud of our beautiful town and all that it has to offer.

Shrewsbury has once again been named as one of the best places to live in the UK by The Sunday Times. We can’t wait to share it with you. We have 12 beautiful boutique rooms, its the perfect place to stay and explore the birthplace of Charles Darwin. The Loopy Shrew serves Modern British food using produce locally sourced and lovingly made where ever possible. Whether you are on special date night, casual lunch with friends or Sunday Lunch with Friends, our menus have something for everyone.

Our bar is the main hub of Loopy’s, it’s popular with locals and there is always something going on. A perfect meeting point for afterwork drinks, weekend drinks and a midweek tipple. We have a wide selection of local and craft beers and our wine list has been hand-selected and tasted meaning you will be spoilt for choice. We are very lucky to work with a team that love what they do and have a lot of knowledge.

We very much look forward to welcoming you.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
