Industrious Women at Blists Hill Victorian Town

Sat-Sun 8-9 March 2025 Industrious Women at Blists Hill Victorian Town

To mark International Women’s Day, visitors to Blists Hill Victorian Town will be able to learn about the little-known role of women in the industries of the Ironbridge Gorge.

A special free guided tour, led by the town’s Victorian residents, will run for this weekend only and will shed light on women’s role during this period of massive change.

At midday the streets of the town will also be brought to life with a suffragist rally where visitors can join in the fight for votes for women.

People will be able to show their support (or opposition!) to the suffragist movement in a special printing activity. Younger visitors will be able to do a fun activity trail and there will be an opportunity to make a special pin badge. Additional changes for some activities.

Timings: From 10am until 4pm (rally at midday)

Dates: Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 March

Location: Blists Hill Victorian Town

No pre-booking necessary. Standard Blists Hill Victorian Town entry ticket required. Entry free for PASSPASS PLUS and Friends of IGMT.

PASS PLUS holders and Friends of IGMT can park in our IGMT car park for free when attending this event by validating their PASS PLUS at the front desk when they arrive.
